About

For Women in Jazz Media, Fausta has organised poetry competitions for publication in our magazines as well a having her own poetry published including To Melba and her poet dedicated to our International Women’s day event called ‘Wo-Art’ Fausta also has a key role in our EFG London Jazz Festival events, working as Artist Liaison and more.

Faustsa is the founder of Joly Licks, an Arts Organisation, making events so you can create! Inspired by the Louise Bourgeois quote, Joly Licks was born to spread the word that creativity equals sanity.  "In this crazy mixed up world we're living in, nothing can be more encouraging than the communities we can build -especially by coming together in the name of art!"

With workshops and Arts Festivals in the pipe line, Joly Licks aims to curate events seen at large scale venues, like the Southbank but no matter the size, still remain a place for artists to spread their wings, and audiences to be lifted off the ground with joy.

With our staple poetry workshop, #sipandrhyme online festivals #theunlocking and #thelockjaw, new venture into Spoken Word and Cabaret events, kids creative summer camps (Lit.Licks), we're doing all we can to make sure you can have as much fun creating as possible. It's up to you to share the word and ethos of Joly Licks events so book a ticket now, and come along for the ride!

Fausta Joly has been writing and performing her poetry since Summer 2018. Performance introduced her to an incredible buzzing community in London and helped her hone a unique, rhythmic style. Her work has been featured in podcasts, zines, international poetry film festivals, and she is about to hit the recording studio, to commence an exciting new EP project.

Collaboration has played a huge part in her career so far, working with Holly Rush Dance, devising their Super Hero Comic world which was included in Manchester HOME's PUSH 2021 Festival. Proudest moment to date, would be the featured poet and consultant for Transient Light Tarot deck with artist friend and author of the deck - Ari Wisner.

Aside from Joly Licks, there are a couple fantastic poetry nights that have called upon Fausta's hosting talents: As a finalist of Hammer & Tongue Hackney, in 2019 she became familiar with the hosts and, during lockdown - was asked to become a team member. She's been hosting with them ever since! Catch her 2nd Thursday, every month at The Book Club in Shoreditch. (You can even hear her uplifting tones at the head of  Lemn Sisay radio show Slam Poets ep.)

Rebel Soapbox - meeting Jenny Foulds, and seeing a female led night, filled Fausta with so much joy and she instantly recognised that Jenny had something she wanted to be apart of. When Jenny advertised for a helping hand at her nights, Fausta leapt at the chance! Rebel Soapbox is held in Brighton, every month - currently at the Brunswick Pub.

Fausta is also available for content commission. Putting her poetic spin on whatever it is you do. Whether it's copy for a bio, event, or something a little different - together we can make your vision pop!
