About
Alice Hill is a music journalist, radio host, and academic writer specialising in jazz. She studied music at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, writing large-scale research projects on Alice Coltrane’s piano music, jazz in Taiwan, and Trinidadian women in British jazz. Currently a resident writer of live reviews for Jazzwise Magazine and member of the Jazz Journalists Association, her writing career continues to grow. In other media, Alice hosts a weekly show entitled ‘Jazz in the New Age’ on Jazz Funk Soul Radio, using her expertise to create an enriching programme centred around recently released jazz music (listen here). She is also a soprano saxophonist, predominantly engaging with free improvisation and meditative forms of jazz performance.
